Apple Inc opens up @AppleSupport on Twitter for questions, tips and tricks

27 Feb 2019

Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) has finally opened up its support account on Twitter – @AppleSupport. The company claims it will provide solutions to questions and queries related to iPhones and iOS through the active Twitter channel.

Apart from providing support to iPhone/iPad users, @AppleSupport will also periodically dispense tips and tricks to its consumers. Apple-related questions could be asked to this support channel, which may include Mac, iOS, iPhone, iTunes and all other Apple products and services.

The bio of the Twitter channel reads:

“We’re here to provide tips, tricks and helpful information when you need it most. We’re available every day to answer your questions, from 5am-8pm PST.”
After launching the account, @AppleSupport has garnered nearly 120,000 followers in just 24 hours. After the launch, the support team received tonnes of questions from Apple users on Twitter such as iCloud backup issues, problematic MacBook cables and calendar entries disappearing-kind of issues. Even, one user has also tried ask about future product news, to which, Apple Support staff politely denied and said ‘we don’t comment on future products.’

The first tip came as in the form of a photo guide to its Notes app and its hidden tricks. It looks like, periodically, this account will provide similar kinds of “how to” tips through photos to its followers.

This is not the first time Apple Inc opened up and account on Twitter. Apple Inc’s Music team has already opened a support account as Apple Music Help, for example. The company created its official App Store twitter channel @appstore in 2009. There is an Apple Store Games account as well.

Finally, Apple Inc seems to be in full force to expand its presence on social media to be part of the direct customer support through Twitter since many other firms have found tremendous success on Twitter. It’s just because, whatever the problem is related to, either a gadget issues, software issue or service problems, Twitterati just tweet their problems and tag respective firms.
