Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) singed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Railway Signal and Communication Corporation (CRSC) Limited, a recognized railway signaling and communication solutions provider from China, to develop railway high-speed railway network in Gulf region. After the completion of this project high-speed trains will run over the network of six countries at maximum speed capacity up to 350km per hour. This will allow passengers to reach Bahrain in 40 minutes and Kuwait in just 2 hours from Qatar. According to this MoU, CRSC will provide all the required advanced technology and solutions required to develop high-speed railway network in this project.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and Ministry of Foreign Affairs China jointly organized an exhibition to represent China’s developments in high-speed railway networks, satellite technology and nuclear solutions. During the MoU signing ceremony, Chairman of CRSC, Zhou Zhiliang, said that it is a multi-million dollar project and expected to take six to eight years to connect all GCC countries with high-speed railway network. Abu Issa Holding, a consulting agency of CRSC mentioned that project is expected to kick off from Qatar and expecting good coordination from other countries in the region.

Countries across the world are increasingly investing is high-speed railway projects in order to support their economic developments and to provide fast and efficient transit facilities to nationals. Established players such as SIEMENS, Hitachi and others are feeling heat from Chinese manufacturers due to continuous development in their technology. Chinese manufacturers are successfully driving attention in global market and getting awarded with overseas high-speed railway network projects. Recently, Chinese manufacturers won overseas projects for high-speed railway networks in Middle East and Africa. Continuous development in Chinese high-speed railway technology and competitive pricing will help Chinese manufacturers to strengthen their position in the global railway technologies and solutions industry.
