Every filmmaker appreciated the steps taken by HBO to curb the online piracy of movies and TV shows, this time by not releasing the review copy of the popular Game of Thrones Series’ Season 6 before the official premiere. But, HBO has lost it again by accidentally making available the Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 5 (S06E05) on its HBO Nordic website a day before its premiere date.

This year, HBO fought hard to take down links to pirated copies of Game of Thrones Season 6’s all episodes. It warned, and even sent DMCA takedown notices to torrent websites and streaming sites. The defensive campaign was partially successful as it was never so tough to find the GoT episodes for fans on torrent sites like this time. But a small mistake became the source of piracy for HBO.

Many of these viewers have posted the synopsis on Reddit too. One of the Reddit user posted:

“It’s online right now, if you want to go and watch it, but they might remove it soon. Someone probably messed up by putting it there.” After a few hours, he said, “checked it again after having woken up and they’ve taken it down from the official website now.”
Game of Thrones series has become the highest viewed TV Shows in the United States ever. Globally too. It’s every episode viewed by an average of 14 million viewers all over the world on TV, official online streaming site and official streaming platforms such as Netflix and Xbox.

Meanwhile, apart from those 14 million live viewers of the TV series, many people miss to watch it on TV due to their own reasons. Although having alternative options such as Netflix, Xbox and HBO website streaming, many people don’t have access to these services (or paid accounts) and they begin their search “Download Game of Thrones S06E05” or “Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 5 Torrent,” and it satisfied them as always.

We recommend people to watch the Game of Thrones from official channel, or live stream on their website for free. People are also managed to use VPNs to access the live streaming in their countries, which is illegal. Game of Thrones season 6 episode 5 will air on 22 May at 9pm EST on HBO in the US and on Monday (23 May) at 9pm on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
