In the first-ever Google Play awards for Android apps, an Israeli-made app Houzz has won “Best App” title. BuzzFeed News, Yummly, Colorfy and TuneIn Radio were on the competing list for the title.
Houzz is an app built by Alon Cohen and Adi Tatarko for the popular home-design website houzz.com founded by them. It has many branches around the world, including Tel-Aviv. They have their presence in the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Russia, Japan, Italy, Spain, Singapore, New Zealand few other countries.
According to the data available on Google Play Store, Houzz has been downloaded by over 10 million users so far. In these millions of users, more than 250,000 users have rated the app 4.6 stars out of 5 stars.
The app is so popular that it has millions of pictures categorized by style, location and room type. Users can login with Google, Facebook or Email and save their favorite pictures in their personal library to consult with other users or share with friends. Many people get inspiration from some of the greatest interior designers in the world.
We have recently written that Houzz will be one of the largest surprises of the app world similar to ICQ, Wave and Viber messenger apps from Israel. This app also has a home-improvement e-commerce built into it.
