Although there is a new name, Mirrors Edge Catalyst, but there is possibly nothing new speaking from the game play point in this remake. The Mirrors Edge Catalyst is entirely a remake of the cult classic of 2008. Mirrors Edge Catalyst is a first person running game just like its previous version, but with a twist. There is a small twist along with better graphics that might just make you relive your first experience with the game in 2008. Even the name of the characters is same.
In Mirrors Edge Catalyst, you will play as faith and run through the city called Glass delivering products. Faith is a runner, who delivers illegal goods for people all across the city of Glass, while they avoid interactions with the ruling regime. In the cult version of the game, all you could do to avoid being detected was run, but in this version, you will be able to land in a few punches and kicks as well. Bet there are a few things that you need to take a look at before you buy Mirrors Edge Catalyst.
Mirrors Edge Catalyst: Things to know
Bad Script: The dialogue is pretty bad. There are a few cheesy lines that will certainly not be likeable to your ears. The dialogues are almost annoying and could certainly distract you from the main objective of the game. The worst lines come from a fellow runner, Icarus.
Improved Navigation: One of the primary points of concern in the 2008 cult version of the game was the navigation through the city. In the remake of Mirrors Edge Catalyst, you will ever get lost in the city. The only bad thing that might happen is that you will not be able to explore the city if you are using the improved navigation system. It is like Google Maps showing you the was in a artificial world.
Combat is available now: As I have stated initially, you will be able to land in a few punches here and there in Mirrors Edge Catalyst. In the cult version of 2008, all you could do is run and dodge. Now, get prepared to land in a few punches on your way.
Well, as it seems that Mirrors Edge Catalyst will be a mixed bag for a few people while it might just be a an extravagant first person running game for the first times We will have to wait and see how the game pans out.
