The decision with regards to net neutrality as ruled out by the Federal Communications Commission will keep Internet open to all. Internet is something that needs to be treated as it is equal for all. According to the ruling by the three judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, everyone should have equal access to the Internet. The users should be able to use the internet for everything; irrespective of the fact that whether they are uploading images or watching movies online.

The judgement was passed on with a vote of 2:1, upholding the entire idea of net neutrality. According to the statement by Tom Wheeler, Federal Communications Commission Chairman, the judgement in favour of net neutrality will “ensures the Internet remains a platform for unparalleled innovation, free expression, and economic growth.” There has been a great response with regards to the recent ruling by the court in favour of net neutrality.

Some individuals believe that the telecom companies that were running for compartmentalization will certainly move up to the higher court against the judgement passed on by the lower court. Although, the proofs against them manipulating the internet search for the users in rare; but the recent issues like Google’s Three Black Teenagers will certainly put them on the back foot.

Let us look at the situation where a normal user would be if net neutrality is not at place. You might just have to pay more to get better speed. You might just have had to pay more to access certain websites. You might just have had to take on a new telecom service to access the sites that you live. Without net neutrality, telecom companies could very well cut down your speeds to unimaginable speeds. The ruling by the judges on net neutrality will mean that Internet will be free and available for all.
