Samsung’s latest addition to the trend setter lineup of phablets Galaxy Note 7 will be launched on August 2 at the official Galaxy Note Unpacked event at 11:00 a.m. EDT in New York. You may be wondering why the Korean smartphone-maker hasn’t released the Galaxy Note 6? Well, Samsung has a reason for it too.
According to the official press release, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will completely align with the latest Galaxy S7 and S7 Plus smartphones. Secondly, the company has released “S7” named smartphones and if it releases the “Note 6” branded phablets, then it might confuse the consumers to think that the Note 6 has older technology than “S7” devices.
The official launch event will also take place in Rio De Janeiro at noon and London at 4 p.m. Samsung has also revealed that large screen (5.8-inch, according to rumors) device will boast an S Pen. You can watch the livestream at Samsung’s Newsroom site http://news.samsung.com/global/.
So far, we have managed to collect some information from rumors and possible leaks of alleged Galaxy Note 7. The 5.8-inch smartphone comes with an IP68 waterproof certification, 12 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front camera, impressive 6GB of RAM (4GB versions available too), 64GB of expandable storage and a 3,500mAh battery (earlier it was expected to be 4,000mAh battery). As usual, Galaxy Note 7 will boast the latest and fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for North American models and its own Exynos chipsets for the device to be sold in the rest of the world.
When Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was unveiled, the device entered the market in just one week, but this time it will release the Note 7 to the market on the same day of the launch, since it wants to encash the market spendings before the Rio Olympics 2016 to be held on August 5.
Meanwhile, a Dubai-based tech shop is offering the pre-orders for the Samsung smartphone for a deposit of $130 (AED 500) to get it by August 2. The official renders also has been leaked and the device available in these colors – Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, and Blue Coral.
Recently, a hands-on video revealed the iris (eye) scanner instead of fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy Note 7. A few screenshots of the manual to understand the working of iris scanner have also spotted online. Earlier this week, there was a video which showed the curved screen Note 7 with an S Pen. Samsung has added the new standard USB Type-C port in the handset and added an official USB Type-C cable inside the box.
Meanwhile, Samsung Note 7 will be coming with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed, but some leaked documents suggest that the company is testing the latest Android 7.0 Nougat on Galaxy Note7 models. Hence, the Android firmware update could reach to the buyers anytime soon after the purchase. If you are interested in the leaked official wallpapers of this handset, just head over to here.
