SpaceX launch was postponed twice this week. The most recent attempt to launch the telecommunications satellite into the orbit was made on Thursday and it failed again. The reports have it that SpaceX will be making another attempt to launch the telecommunications satellite into the orbit aboard Falcon 9 rocket on Sunday. The time kept aside for the launch is 6:46 PM eastern time. Monday has been kept as a reserve day in case, something goes south again.

SpaceX had to cancel the previous two efforts to launch the telecommunications satellite from Cape Canaveral Fla. The cancellations came in due to some technical issues that they were facing. Initially, the rocket carrying the SpaceX telecommunication satellite was scheduled to go off on Wednesday, which was stopped due to the technical issues they faced approximately 30 minutes ahead of the launch. On Thursday, the technical trouble was noticed about two minutes ahead of blastoff. All will be hoping that nothing goes wrong on Sunday.

The problem is possibly with the new cryogenic propellant that Falcon 9 is using. It is a liquid oxygen propellant mixed intricately with a specific type of kerosene. After that it is frozen to make the propellant dense and compact. Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX is of the belief that this allows the rocket more power and better fuel capacity.

Elon Musk stated, “There are a number of improvements in the rocket, and one of the things we’re doing for the first time, the first time I think anyone’s done it, is deeply cryogenic propellant.”

The issue with the propellant is that SpaceX is possibly unable to control the chilling of the liquid oxygen and loading it on to the rocket, before the 30 minute launching window. The reports suggest that once the timing has been taken care of, we can expect Falcon 9 to soar high.
