On March 2016, German based BASF has increased the prices of its Vitamin A products by 20% with an immediate effect. BASF is a leading producer of Vitamin A for many end users industries such as cosmetics, food and animal nutrition. This change in price escalation will not affect the existing contractual obligations with customers.
On Mar 2015, Royal DSM, the global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials has finalized the acquisition of a Hong Kong-based company which produces vitamin C named Aland. Both the companies were discussing the acquisition from the previous year since April 2014. Financial details of this acquisition were not disclosed.
