In August 2018, as a part of strategic development in North America region, Lagardère Travel Retail announced the signing of an agreement for the acquisition of 100% of Hojeij Branded Foods (HBF).This acquisition will be combined with Paradies Lagardère, the organization’s North American division. Combining the activities of Lagardère Travel Retail and Hojeij Branded Foods would create a US$ 1.1 Bn player, the third largest player in the North American Travel Retail and Foodservice industry.

On 2nd July 2018, Ocugen launched Phase III trials for its OCU300 nanoemulsion intended for treatment against the symptoms of ocular graft versus host disease (oGVHD). Ocugen is a Malvern, Pennsylvania based company and possess a nanoemulsion formulation of brimonidine tartrate (OCU300) in its pipeline. The Company has also claimed that its first oGVHD ( therapy entering in Phase III clinical trial and its ophthalmic comorbidity impacts 60% of people who have an allogeneic bone marrow transplant.
In Aug 2018, Kodiak Emergency Vehicles (specializes in sales and service for ambulances and emergency equipment) joined Technimount System to expand its distribution network in the U.S. In March 2018 Technimount System has been granted an agreement by one of Canada’s major emergency medical service supplier that would see the supply of their compact Stretcher Safety Arms and medical devices for their 400 ambulances, representing to an agreement of around US$ 1 Mn.
During the Annual General Meeting 2018, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, an Indian mobile network operator, introduced its much awaited JioGigaFiber FTTH broadband service in India. The telecom operator made its first commercial debut in 2016. It has achieved nearly 215 Mn subscribers in its operation of 22 months, being the first operator to offer unlimited data at cheap prices while making local calls free across the country. Reliance Jio will install a FTTH service, bringing fiber optic cable line to the local home connection with minimum loss of speed during transmission from the exchange.
Komatsu Ltd, one of the leading construction equipment manufacturers, developed partnership with Chinese commercial drone manufacturer DJI to supply 1,000 drones. All these 1,000 drones use machine vision software developed by U.S. startup Skycatch. DJI also announced that order of 1,000 drones is its biggest single shipment for UAVs. This drones are semiautonomous DJI’s unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that use machine vision technology to monitor and survey construction sites.

In July 2018, Olympus Corporation received an approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) for BF-MP190F bronchoscope. The BF-MP190F is an ultra-slim, fully rotatable diagnostic bronchoscope is compatible with the radial EBUS probe and an array of sampling devices in order to expand access to smaller airways & distal lesions. This bronchoscope assists pulmonologists to efficiently access, sampling, and diagnosis of lung cancer with its ratio of a 1.7 mm working channel to distal-end outer diameter of 3.0 mm.
Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) singed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Railway Signal and Communication Corporation (CRSC) Limited, a recognized railway signaling and communication solutions provider from China, to develop railway high-speed railway network in Gulf region. After the completion of this project high-speed trains will run over the network of six countries at maximum speed capacity up to 350km per hour.
